25 Years of Academic and Clinical Experience in Urological Surgery
Prof. Dr. Mutlu Ateş graduated from the Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1997. He successfully completed his urology specialty training at the Department of Urology, Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine in 2004.
Between 2005 and 2006, on a European Society for Urotechnology (ESUT) fellowship, he trained in laparoscopic urology at SLK Klinikum Heilbronn, affiliated with Heidelberg University in Germany. During this period he worked directly with Prof. Dr. Jens Rassweiler, one of the world's pioneers of laparoscopy, gaining top-level experience and skill in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
A First in Turkey: Dual Surgery Success
Surgery for both prostate cancer and adrenal gland cancer in the same session with the robotic method was performed successfully for the first time in Turkey by Prof. Dr. Mutlu Ateş.
In his academic career he has served as Head of the Department of Urology at Afyon Kocatepe University Faculty of Medicine, in the Urology Department of Antalya Memorial Hospital, and as Administrative and Training Lead (Department Chair) at the University of Health Sciences (SBÜ) Antalya Training and Research Hospital, training hundreds of urology specialists and performing thousands of successful robotic and oncologic surgeries.
